Sliding Scale

Money is a barrier to access art for many black, queer, trans, and disabled people, and since I am all 4, I understand how that lack of access can feel.

In January 2025, I changed from regular pricing to a sliding scale structure to make my art more accessible in terms of cost. For all items, you will have the option to choose between three tiers of pricing:

  • Full: This tier is for those who are able to meet their basic needs* and have expendable income**.
  • Half: This tier is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little or no expendable income. Use the code SSHalf during checkout.
  • Free: This tier is for those who struggle to meet their basic needs and in which paying full or half price for items would mean foregoing those needs. Use the code SSFree during checkout.

* - Basic needs are defined as food, housing, health care, and transportation.
** - Expendable income is defined as money leftover after paying for your basic needs.

This system is based on trust - I trust you to know what you can afford and that what you pay reflects that. If you are able to pay full price, I ask that you do so as it gives me the ability to offer this sliding scale while making enough to sustain the shop.

If you’re able and want to, I have a tip jar which helps me afford to offer more free items, make new merch, and generally keep the shop running. Tips are not required by anyone and are always greatly appreciated.
