I want to do what I can to help keep the world going. In terms of working towards a more sustainable future, I do my best to make sure my products and packaging have minimal impact on the earth we all call home.
Minimal impact, for me, means something is either...
- Recycled
- Recyclable
- Reusable
- Sustainably sourced
- A mix of or all of the above
I understand that not every place has the same recycling infrastructure, so I do my best to keep the recycling/reusability process simple to help more folks be eco-friendly without it being a chore. This is why a majority (and in the future, all) of my packaging and waste from merch is curbside recyclable and/or easily reusable.
Here's a breakdown of your order's packaging:
Zero Waste Shipping Labels ~ made by EcoEnclose. They are recycled, recyclable, and reusable. You only need to take the label off the package when recycling if it's on a bubble or poly mailer.
Bubble and Poly Mailers ~ made by EcoEnclose. They are recycled, recyclable, and reusable. These are being phased out to make way for more easily recyclable padded and rigid mailers.
- These mailers come with an additional self-seal, so if they're opened using the tear strip, they can be filled up, sealed closed, and shipped again.
- To recycle these, they have to be taken to grocery/department stores that recycle plastic grocery/shopping bags. You can also use them to recycle plastic film through EcoEnclose’s take-back program.
Paper Padded Mailers ~ made by EcoEnclose. They are essentially bubble mailers made from paper. They are recycled and can be recycled in curbside/local recycling bins.
Rigid Mailers ~ made by ClearBags or EcoEnclose. They are recycled, curbside recyclable, and reusable.
Business, Thank You, and Backing Cards ~ printed by GotPrint on recycled and curbside recyclable paper using low-impact inks.
Kraft Bags ~ made by Nashville Wraps. I wrap merch in these. They are recycled and can be recycled in curbside/local recycling bins.
Washi Tape ~ I close kraft bags with washi tape, which is reusable if peeled off carefully, otherwise, it can be recycled or tossed as it is biodegradable.
Reused Packaging ~ Sometimes I reuse packaging from stuff I've gotten in the mail. I do my best to only reuse easily recyclable stuff, but sometimes reuse unrecyclable plastic to prevent it from being single-use. Please add to the chain and reuse this plastic as well, if possible.
Here's a breakdown of your order's merch:
Prints ~ Printed by CatPrint. I use their recycled Heavy Card Stock.
Notepads ~ Printed by JukeBox Print. I use their 80-lb off-white recycled paper.
Stickers & Sticker sheets ~ Printed by ZapCreatives. I use their responsibly-sourced eco-paper as the stickers and their backing paper are recyclable.
- Some of my stickers were made by StickerNinja, with vinyl. Those are my Queer Sky and Rest designs. These are on clearance to make way for newer, more eco-friendly designs.
Enamel Pins ~ made by a pin factory. I plan to make recycled acrylic keychains through ZapCreatives instead of pins moving forward.
